Horned Lark breeding Horry Cty

Hi C birders,
In response to Joshua's post, Status and Distribution of S.C. Birds and
the supplement do not list any breeding records for Horry County or the
outer coastal plain but it would not surprise me if they did breed in
western Horry County (an educated guess on my part) as it is a confirmed
breeder on the inner coastal plain.
I would think the sod farm is not the likeliest spot because of the
commercial activity there especially the effluent spray fields. More
likely would be the smaller farms where a field is not being used
because of crop rotation but was tilled this winter. The fields along
Hardwick Road should be watched for this.
