Yesterday, Thursday, I flushed a Sora in a pine plantation (!)-- in the
Croatan National Forest, Craven County.
Actually, the bird was in a cleared strip (maybe 20' wide), but it
flushed from a tangle of piled up material. It briefly landed in a pine
tree! Quite obviously a migrant.
A few seconds later, a turkey flushed just ahead of me in the same
plantation.
