Hi all,
I stepped out for a brief spot of birding this morning at Old Hope
Valley Farm Road (Durham/Chatham counties, NC). As I was
walking along, I heard the song of a BLUE-HEADED VIREO. I
followed the song, hoping for a glimpse - I could see something
flitting around in the trees. I found a nest...with said vireo working
on it. I'd heard that BH vireos nest in the piedmont on occasion,
but this is the first time I've seen it directly. A very cool and
uplifting sighting for my morning.
