Wilkes Co. birding

Birded the Wilkesboro Greenway and W.Kerr Scott Reservoir area
today....still no huge flocks of warblers, but they could only be days away.

Greenway

Red-tailed Hawk
Barn Swallows
Mallard
Red-eyed Vireo
Gnatcatcher
E. Bluebird
House Wren
Common Yellowthroat

Reservoir

Ospreys - at least 3
BALD EAGLE - immature
Yellow-throated Warbler - eluded me for years on a local basis

PS...when visiting a friend staying at Miller's campground in Laurel
Springs... I saw at least 3 migrating Ospreys that were apparently following
a traditional route through the Mtns. My friend asked me days earlier as to
what the large black-and-white birds that looked like eagles were. He said
every day he saw them come through about the edge of dark and head in a
particular direction. Since there is no major water body in the vicinity,
this must be where they pass through the mtns heading to the New River
valley and places north....no antenna visible Rob.
