Birders,
A quick visit to the Hwy 54 impoundments between Durham and Chapel Hill on
Saturday 26 April failed to locate any Yellow-crowned Night-Herons yet
this year. However, between those impoundments and the Durham WAter
Treatment Facility on Farrington Rd, I did see the following:
1 Greater Yellowlegs
10 Spotted Sandpipers
8 Solitary Sandpipers
10 Killdeer
Also several Barn and N. Rough-winged Swallows sailing about. Was
disappointed to hear/see NO migrant (i.e. non-resident) warblers, though
the Prothonotarys were singing at the Little Creek Impoundment.
