Hilton Pond 05/01/03 (Jack-in-the-Pulpit)

Jack-in-the-Pulpit has an interesting name, a peculiar flower, and a very intriguing lifestyle.

The 1-7 May 2003 installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" delves into the secret life of Jack (and Jill) in the current photo essay at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030501.html.

As always there's a tally of birds banded, as well as a list of recaptures. Included is a mug shot of a female Kentucky Warbler--only the 18th of her species captured at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History since 1982.

Happy Nature Watching,
