Warblers pouring through in Asheville 9/16/03

C-birders
This morning in the back garden here in north Asheville a very large mixed
flock of southbound migrants was passing through. Always nice to skip out of
the office to enjoy such a spectacle.

Highlights were as follows:
Scarlet Tanager (2), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2)
Philadelphia Vireo (2), Eastern Wood-Pewee (1)
Warblers: Hooded (1), Black-throated Green (5+), Tennessee (20+), Nashville
(1), Blackburnian (2), Redstart (2), Bay-breasted (1), Chestnut-sided (5+).
Also a pretty good passage of Swainson's Thrushes coming in pre and post
dawn.
Here's to good birding in Hickory!
