This morning, I joined Bruce Smithson and Harry Sell
for land birding at Fort Fisher. The cold front that
moved through the area last night produced a very good
fall-out of passerines.
We had 15 species of warblers near the ferry landing
area. Noteworthy birds include two Clay-colored
Sparrows, one Lark Sparrow, and one Philadelphia
Vireo.
Birds were zipping back and forth among the cedars.
This area should be good for the next few days.
