Sabine's Gull Seen Briefly This Evening

Ok, maybe I should go out there and anchor the Sabine?s Gull down. After seeing it for about 15 minutes this afternoon, I returned at 2:45pm with Dom and Emma D?Ostilio to view it again. It was nowhere to be found. We took my own advice and we waited and waited and waited!!! Three hours and fifteen minutes later, after we were joined by David and Susan Disher and Paul Powers of Winston-Salem, it made a brief (4-5 minute), but good, flight around it?s ?normal? hangout. They were able to follow it with their scopes to get good views of it. This was David?s 600th lifebird! Congrats to him! I had to leave at 6:30pm, so I?m not sure if it returned after that or not. We also had an adult Bald Eagle sitting on a dead tree on the Catawba County side of the lake. Hope the gull stays around tomorrow, as several folks are planning to come to see it.
