Dook net killed by iPhones

Fred and a /. story alert us to the network problems cause by affluent students at Dook. Both note that the iPhones are killing “because the misbehaving iPhones flood the access points with up to 18,000 address requests per second, nearly 10Mbps of bandwidth, and monopolizing the APs [access points] airtime.” (from Network World).

  1. Anyone that remembers the early days of AppleTalk shouldn’t be surprised. That the phone got out with such a bug, especially given the relatively abundant number of competitor’s phones with Wifi, well, it speaks well of waiting until at leat v1.1 for this product.

How’s battery life on the beast Paul? I’ve seen some reports that folks are sensing some “resistance” to the phone charging all the way back to %100.
