You will recall another famous New England poet whose first book (in 1915) was named “A Boy’s Will,” I’m sure. Do you know who? Here’s a hint: http://www.bartleby.com/117/

Here's a matching hint:

Whose woods these are I do not know
His house is in the village though
So he will not see me go
and sign my name with yellow snow

Found in an old National Lampoon

Growing up in Portland, Maine, H.W. is my home boy. If I recall, he was one of the first students to attend Bowdoin College (Go Polar Bears). Just about every year in elementary school we would field trip to his house for a tour. When Henry was living there, it had a great view of Casco Bay. Today it is surrounded by much higher buildings.
We all learned about the tragic fire. I don't remember the translation so it's good to see this resurrected.

If you went to public schools in Portland, you had to memorize "My Lost Youth.:

Often I think of the beautiful town
That is seated by the sea;
Often in thought go up and down
The pleasant streets of that dear old town,
And my youth comes back to me.
A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts.
