My problem with Thomas Edison

Paul, · Categories: General

He was so obsessed with making DC the standard that he went to some pretty extreme lengths to show up Westinghouse and Tesla including electrocuting cats, dogs and an elephant — with AC of course. But there is more as Pinky explains in “Thomas Edison Hates Cats.”

Interesting. I guess this is why Eveready batteries had a logo with a cat and the line “Nine lives”. DC power of course. :)

Another cool fact is that Tesla was developing a way to deliver electricity WIRELESSLY. aka Tesla Effect He was going to use the ionosphere as a global distribution network. I wonder sometimes if he had succeeded if he could have burt the ionosphere off Earth and hastened global warming.
