Online Education to Be Free

Going on with the topic of online education, here's an article about a
project started by the owner of the company I'll be working for. (I
say, give that extra $100 million lying around to me instead!). But
seriously, it brings up various issues about who would actually be able
to use this. We talked about the "Digital Divide", where minorities
aren't online for one reason or another. Would it really be accessible
to EVERYONE? And what would a diploma from this "university" be
worth--I would think that a diploma from a brick and mortar Ivy League
school would be taken much more seriously than one from this university.

Local high-tech billionaire Michael Saylor will announce tomorrow that
he has donated $100 million as a down payment toward creating an online
university that he says will offer an "Ivy League-quality" education to
anyone in the world--free.
