Hi all,

I was thumbing thru a copy of "Glass Audio" looking at the ads, and I
saw a place called New Sensor selling NOS and Russian tubes. They had
some good prices, but what really caught my eye was NOS Jan 6AG7Ys for
30 cents each. I called and it's legit. The catch is a $60 minimum
order. I'm passing this info along should anybody want to set up a
group buy or somesuch. There may be some other good buys in the ad as
well -- I'm not that familiar with some of the tubes listed. While I
don't need any of these tubes, I thought at this price there might be
some interest.

Oh yeah, the number: New Sensor Corp. 800-633-5477

Mike, KK6GM

Hi and a very merry Christmas / happy Chanukah to all

I have the front panel to a Heath HW101 which has faired much better than
the rest of the rig. The panel is in great cosmetic condition, and has NOT
been modified in any way.
The zero-set button is there, and the dial window is in good shape.

I am offering the panel for trade - I would possibly consider cash, if your
junque box is empty. Here is a brief rundown of some of the items I'm
looking for...

- FT243 crystals in the 80m / 40m novice or general CW bands
- plug-in coil forms
- air-dux type coil stock suitable for qrp homebrew
- binding posts which will also accept banana plugs
(I'm looking for ceramic, but plastic is OK)

Dig deep - be generous! Be creative! Let me know what you want to trade
for this panel. I don't have a use for it, and I figure that it would be
much better to find a new home for this panel somewhere other than the city
dump ... recycling and all, don't ya' know?

have 5 (originally listed 6 for 280.00 shipped) but, seems they may move
better as single units. now, i have done nothing to these, they may need to
be re-coned to sound good, and 2 definetly need refinshed, the others should
clean up to be at least presentable.
if interested in one, i'll ship them for $50 ea.
these are the unit that, depending on color match the following:
sp-200/sp-400/hq-129x, these are 10" jensen speakers inside, as supplied
from Hammarlund. if you would like one or more, contact me at the below info:

grettings;
after several bites, its still availible. this is one of less than
50 units done this way by Hammarlund, for big wigs, embassys, and
ambassitors, in the government.
the ONLY reason it is for sale, is because my wifes best friend and her 3
young kids,(4 yrs, 3yrs, & 4 months) are stranded in Georgia, after going
there for the holidays, and having her car break down beyond repair. ( i
know, nice guy) well, she has no family to help her, so here i am. if your
interested, price is $650 shipped, i'll ship after the 1st.
and at least 2 people here on BA can attest to its condition and looks.
Marc Melucas & Chris Galbraith, both have seen and heard this beautiful
unit. so, if you can help me help her out, give me a bump.
PS; need to get her back before the 1st of Jan. (she starst collage the 3rd)
so i need the cash asap, i'm in mich.
Many thanks,

Hi Robert: It has a front/back ratio of 18dB. Low Z = 30 to 50 ohms,
Medium Z = 150 to 250 ohms, Hi Z = 40K. Output level = -52dB.
Response = 30 to 15K. Sold in 1963 for about $82.00

Tubes seem to be 'in' this year for Ham and hobby projects.

Check out the February 1996 edition of Popular Electronics Mag (Just hit the
newstands here).

On page 31 there is an interesting 40 Meter QRP xmiter that uses a 3A5.
Frankly most of the items are junkbox and breadboard material.

On page 38 is another article on using type 56 tubes with a 2A3 for an
interesting Hi-fi audio amp.

Both articles are by Larry Lisle. Am I wrong or have I seen that name pop up
around here at times ?

Anyway, best of the Season to all
