Subject: Grinding Crystals
Message-ID: <960526235231_310845414@emout13.mail.aol.com>

My project for this three day weekend has been to grind some old surplus
crystals to move them up to the 40 M CW band. Before this project, all I had
was a single rock that spoke 7035 KCs. So far, I have been successfull in
coaxing one rock up to 7028 and another up to 7050 but, many other brethren
were lost along the way. I seem to have no problem moving the frequency up
the first 150 KCs or so but eventually the rock gives up the ghost. Does
anyone have have any advice that will help me move the crystal frequency more
than 150 or 200 KC?

73's, Eric WD6DGX
