NCSU's departments of Animal and Poultry Science, along with the NC
Agricultural Research Service and the NC Farm Bureau, are holding a free
event for children. It is the 1994 Farm Animal Days, and it is designed
to let young children see and pet farm animals, and to learn about
agriculture.

WHEN: April 13, 14, and 15 (Wed-Fri) from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm

WHERE: NCSU's Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory, on Lake Wheeler Road
two miles south of I-40 (there will be signs & people to help you park)

ACTIVITIES:
- Demonstration of cow milking (every half hour)
- Pet the animals: pigs, rabbits, sheep, goats, chicks
- Other animals to see: cows, horses
- Demonstration of sheep shearing (noon each day)
- Teachers and parents receive a free informational pamphlet
- Children receive a free coloring book (while they last)

IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND:
No pre-registration is necessary. Come any time after 9:00; there will
be people there to direct you where to park. We close at 2:00, so be
sure to come early enough to see everything by 2:00. Many
teachers/parents bring a picnic lunch and eat on the grass. In the past,
Thursday has been the busiest day, so consider coming Wednesday or Friday
if you can. Also, lunch time is much busier than 9:00-11:00.

This event is designed for children that are 3rd grade or younger, but
everyone who is interested is welcome to come! We ask that you stop by
the registration table so we can get a count of how many people attend.

IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION:
Call Nelda Pryse or Fay White at 515-3028, or Jeannette Moore at
515-4010. All the information you need is in this flyer and we are
pretty busy this time of year, so we would rather just see you at Farm
Animal Days!! :-)
