PHYLTEST: A PROGRAM FOR TESTING PHYLOGENETIC HYPOTHESIS Version 2.0 SUDHIR KUMAR Institute of Molecular Evolutionary Genetics and Department of Biology, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, USA. Address for comments, bug-reports, & other correspondence: 328 Mueller Laboratory, University Park, PA 16802; Fax: 814-863-7336 E-mail: IMEG@PSUVM.PSU.EDU The following analyses can be conducted with this program. ---------------------------------------------------------- 1. Comparison of three alternative phylogenetic trees for four monophyletic clusters of sequences (four-cluster analysis; Rzhetsky, Kumar & Nei 1995). 2. Examination of the null hypothesis that an interior branch length is significantly greater than zero (interior-branch test; Rzhetsky & Nei 1992). 3. Estimation of average pairwise distances (and standard errors) within and between clusters of sequences. 4. Relative rate tests and the computation of the time of divergence. HOW TO GET IT --------------- PHYLTST.exe is a self extracting file.
