GeneDisplay by Clark Riley Howard Hughes Medical Institute Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics 725 North Wolfe Street, 808 PCTB Baltimore, Maryland 21205 "clark_riley@qmail.bs.jhu.edu" (410) 955-7897 GeneDisplay is a _SIMPLE_, very fast editor and formatter for DNA and peptide sequences. It's normal input is a text file. GeneDisplay removes non-alphabetic characters from the text stream and allows LIMITED line numbering, lengths, etc. See the balloon help for each menu item. Text is limited to 32 K because the program uses Apples TextEdit routines. A future version will remove this restriction. ANY file may be opened with GeneDisplay by dragging the file onto the program (System 7) or by selecting GeneDisplay and the file together and Opening from Finder (System 6). I have done very little checking of file errors, so it will often open files that other programs won't. This can be useful. Enjoy. Source code (pure assembly) is available from the author.
