FSV - Recover Deleted Files =========================== FSV is a small program to recover a file after it has been deleted. For a limited period of time (until the blocks are reused) a deleted file still exists, and during this time FSV is effective. As soon as you realise that you have deleted a file, dismount the disk containing it (if it was the System Disk boot in another one), install FSV and assign LUN 1 (by default SY:) to it, and LUN2 (by default LB:) to the output device. The program can then be run in any of the valid RSX ways:- RUN $FSV or FSV or FSV command-line The first two will result in a prompt of FSV> which will re-prompt after each filename until CTRL-Z is typed. In addition, if the starting block number of the Index File is known, it can be specified to an FSV prompt to speed things up.
