Lowercase letters describe a variable whose value is determined when you enter the command. 2. Square brackets [] enclose optional items, except for UIC specifications which always require brack- ets. 3. Numeric values used in commands can be octal or de- cimal, unless the command description indicates otherwise. 4. (P) indicates that a format or keyword is privileged. NONPRIVILEGED MCR COMMANDS (Can be accessed by any user) ABO[RT] taskname[/keyword] PMD Terminates execution of the specified task. All users can generate a post mortem dump with the PMD keyword, but only privileged users can abort tasks running from another terminal. On multiuser protection systems, you can only initialize a volume on allocated private dev- ices. LOGICAL UNIT NUMBERS LUN[S] taskname Displays at entering terminal the static LUN assign- ments for a specified task. MOUNT Files or DECtape Format: MOU[NT] ddn:[volumelabel][/keyword(S)] ACP=taskname DENS=density EXT=block-count FOR (foreign) FPRO=[system, owner, group, world] LRU=FCB-count OVR (override) PARM=user parameters UIC=[uic] UNL VI (volume id) WIN=retrieval-pointer-count Creates the Volume Control Block (VCB) and declares the volume logically online for access by the file system. Files-11 (ANSI) Magnetic Tape Format: MOU[NT] ddn:[label][/keyword(s)] ACP=taskname DENS=tape-density FOR (foreign) FPRO=[system, owner, group, world] OVR (override) OVRFSID OVREXP PARM="user parameters" UIC=[uic]/VI VI (volume id) Allocates the Volume Set Control Block (VSCB) and mounted and unmounted volume lists. Network Format: MOU[NT] ddn:[/keyword(s)] ACP=taskname PRTCL=network-protocol RCK=name of a redundancy check algorithm TEL=telephone number of a dial-up link Informs the network ACP that the device is available for use in the network. PARTITION DEFINITIONS PAR[TITIONS] Displays on entering terminal a description of each memory partition in the system. RES[UME taskname [/keyword] Allows the nonprivileged user to continue execution of a suspended task that was initiated from the entering termi- nal. The privileged user can direct the Resume command to any suspended task. RUN taskname [/RSI=magu[/UIC=[uic]] RUN taskname dtime [/RSI=magu][/UIC=[uic]] RUN taskname sync [dtime][/RSI=magu][/UIC[uic]] RUN taskname atime [/RSI=magu][/UIC[uic]] RUN [ddn:][$] filespec [/keyword(s)] CKP=option PAR=pname SLV=option TASK=taskname UIC=[g,m] Initiates execution of a task, either immediately, or at one of several time-dependent intervals. SET /keywords=values BUF=TTnn:[size] CRT[=TTnn:] EBC[=TTnn:] ECHO[=TTnn:] ESCSEQ[=dev:] FDX[=TTnn:] FORMFEED[-TTnn:] HFILL=TTnn:[value] HHT[=TTnn:] HOLD[=dev:] LINES=TTnn:[value] LOWER=TTnn: PRIV=[TTnn:] PUB[=TTnn:] REMOTE[=TTnn:] RPA[=TTnn:] SLAVE[=TTnn:] SPEED=TTnn:[recv:xmit] TERM=TTnn:[value] TYPEAHEAD[=TTnn:] SYSUIC[=uic] UIC[=uic[TTnn:]] VFILL[=TTnn: WCHK[=TTnn:] WRAP]=TTnn: Establishes device characteristics for the device specified. Privileged users can alter device characteristics for all of the devices on the system, but nonprivileged users can only alter and observe characteristics for devices allocated to them.
