The general form of the User File Directory command is: UFD ddn:[volume-label][group,member][/keywords] where ddn - The two letter device name and octal unit number of the mounted volume on which the UFD is to be created. volume-label - If specified, the label is compared with the label on the volume. If the names match, a UFD can be allocated. If they do not match, the command is rejected. [group, member] - The owner UIC for the UFD of the same name. The square brackets are part of the required syntax. /keywords - /ALLOC=m and /PRO=[system,owner,group,world] A volume must have been initialized and mounted before a UFD can be created on it. On a multiuser protection system, a nonprivileged user can create a UFD only on a volume he has allocated. Type HELP UFD ALLOC and HELP UFD PRO for more information. 2 ALLOC /ALLOC=n allocates space for n (decimal) directory entries. N is rounded up to the next multiple of 32 (decimal). The default is 32 (decimal). 2 PRO PRO=[s,o,g,w] establishes access rights to the directory for "system," "owner," "group," and "world" UICs by defining their access codes. An access code consists of from zero to four of the following: R - Read, allow directory lookups W - Write, allow entries to be removed from the directory E - Extend, allow entries to be entered in the directory D - Delete, allow the directory itself to be deleted The absense of an access code letter means that the UIC class is denied the access right. The default is [RWED,RWED,RWED,R]. The square brackets are a required part of the syntax.
