Running Colossal Programs on RSX/IAS by O.K.Olmstead Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory Users wanting to run very large (100,000 FORTRAN source statements) programs on RSX/IAS are faced with severe Task Builder (TKB) limitations. The typical problem encountered is an overflow of symbol table space indicated by the error message "NO VIRTUAL MEMORY STORAGE AVAILABLE". If all of the hints in Appendix E of the Task Builder manual don't help (e.g. use SLOTKB) then the user is forced to restructure his program in less than an ideal way. This area contains instructions for generating huge programs like this and getting them to work under RSX11M.
