St: ------------------------------------------------------------------ About caulking...my advise is NOT to remove any that is firmly seated to the surfaces. If the bead is only cracked simply buy a good grade of silicone/latex caulking and TOUCH UP the open crack. Of course if it is falling out loose you will have to remove the culprit. I use a tool purchased at the local paint store called a "5 in one" tool. It has a neat little pointed blade on one end that is perfect for digging and cutting out old caulking. The business end is a paint scraper/putty knife. The curved end is great for cleaning paint roller covers. I never have been able to figure out the fifth use.
