Home economics agents can provide technical assistance and other information on water conservation inside the home or workplace. Staff can refer you to businesses and organizations which sell conservation equipment such as low-flush toilets, low-flow showerheads, and faucet aerators. Agricultural agents provide information on water conservation in the yard, garden, or farm and can refer you to sources for equipment such as rain cisterns and drip irrigation systems. Both your agricultural agent and staff in the home economics section distribute publications on water conservation techniques. Long Branch Environmental Education Center (P.O. Box 369, Leicester 28748; 704/683-3662): Provides technical assistance on water conservation, including general and purchasing information on conservation devices such as composting toilets. Conducts applied research and presents findings through publications and exhibits.
