Should'nt we expect this PC electrical consumption to continue to increase? I would think that with the addition of more and more devices as 'standard' equipment on most PC systems that they would add to the power requirements, etc. What about the ever-increasing sizes of fixed- disks also? I'm not much of an electronics engineer but does'nt it seem reasonable that more and larger devices would eat more electricity if other factors remained the same? I do believe frequent switching on and off of PC equipment may shorten the life of some components. I turn my PC off each night before leaving for home while some people leave theirs on for weeks at a time. Which method saves more electricity and environmental costs in the long run?
