To: SunSITE Archive Since I'm on the topic over on Ansax-L, I thought I'd raise the question here, and that is, is there any feeling expressed in any of the laws or the liter- ature against defamation and unnatural acts (basically sodomy, homosexuality) as there are in the Norse laws? Any laws prohibiting witchcraft in Medieval Wales? Specifically prohibiting MEN from practicing witchcraft? Doesn't look as though Hywel the Good covers these, although I should check again. What was the status of the dyn hysbys? Interestingly, Hywel mentions punishable defamation or shameful speaking on the part of _women_: who are not to wish a blemish on their husband's beard, or "dirt in his teeth." This is amusing; these must have been common curses. Sarah Higley slhi@troi.cc.rochester.edu
