Kathryn Klar teaches the irregular Modern Welsh class at the University of California at Berkeley. It meets on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 or so. Her e-mail address is kkestrel@garnet.berkeley.edu. Johan -- while Kathryn is in Comparative Literature, her speciality is in Old Welsh metrics. With Eve Sweetser and Brendan O'Hehir, she has published stuff on the Gododdin -- you can find it discussed in the introduction to the new A.O.H. Jarman version of that poem. Like most of us doing Celtic at Berkeley, we have to nominally be in other departments, since there is no Celtic department here, nor is there an "official" interdisciplinary program. As for the original question: you can get lots of Welsh learning tapes (audio & video), books, etc. from David Morgan's store. I have refrained from saying anything since I can't actually find the phone number. But if you call 1-800-555-1212 they should be able to look it up for you, as it's an 800 number. - David Librik librik@cs.Berkeley.edu
