Dear WELSH-L Please excuse the English. I know essentially no Welsh. My 13 year old daughter has become interested in Welsh through her reading. She would like to learn some. She has never studied a foreign language. I have studied several. We have an old pamphlet by Caradar from the 20s, which is interesting to me, but not practical for Rose. I need advice on a book to start her. it should be fairly light (and not expensive), but not too silly. She is a fairly serious young lass! Later we can get the bigger stuff. I have looked through you posting on material for learning Welsh, as cross-posted to Gaelic-L, but not found what I want. Schoenhof's lists the following that caught my eye: Get by in Welsh, Welsh for Beginners, by Angela Wilkes Welsh is Fun, by H. Gruffudd & E. Ioan Welsh is Funtastic, by H. Gruffudd & E. Ioan Welsh with ease, W.G. Jones I would greatly appreciate ny comments on these or other suggestions. Thanks. Do/nall (on Gaelic-L) Dan (in USA) Daniel J.
