To reserve your place you will need to send a deposit of $100US to the following address: Paul W. Birt 410, chemin Boucher Aylmer Quebec Canada J9H 5C9 The cheque should be made out to: CWRS CYMRAEG OTTAWA. The dates of the course are July 25th to 1st August. The tuition begins on Monday the 26th. Students arrive on the 25th but if they wish to arrive earlier they should give plenty of warning to the organiser (myself!) The course is is made up of language classes during morning and part of the afternoon. There are five levels, from absolute beginners to advanced. There are usually about 65-75 students in residence. The instructors are all professional teachers of the Welsh language. Three are brought over from Wales and the other three are resident in North America. As well as language instruction, there are afternoon activities which made use of the language practical contexts. In the evening there are social activities, eg a Noson Lawen (Welsh entertainments evening) on the Tuesday evening, an evening of Welsh films/movies, and at the end of the course there is an Eisteddfod (not too serious entertainment put on by the quite talented students (many come each year, but there are always many new students as well) and a ceremony to celebrate the winning of the literary prizes (for competitions set earlier in the week). There is also a train trip on one afternoon. As you can see the week is very full and I think you would find considerable variety in the course. I am sure you have questions which I have not addressed here, please don't hesitate to fire away. Yn gywir iawn, Paul Birt.
