For those of you living in the S4C area, I would recommend you watch the showing of "Dafydd" on Tuesday at 10:30 pm. I saw the premier this week in Aberystwyth at the Welsh International Film Festival and was very imppressed. It is about a welsh speaking gay man from Pontypridd who goes to Amsterdam and works as a rent boy. There he has a relationship with another welsh man which ends up in tradgedy. The dialogue is mainly in welsh, with a little english, dutch, and even german thrown in for good measure. The version I saw was not subtitled, and the discussion on the film was in welsh which managed to stretch this learners abilities. Possibly the first ever discussion of this type in welsh on the genre currently known as "Queer Cinema" - "Simema Hoyw"?? Sorry this posting is in English - my brain is overlaoded with welsh this week and sorry if anyone is offended by the subject of the posting.
