> My colleague has been unable to post to Welsh-l - unauthorised apparently . > He does appear on the current REV WELSH-L. he is Phil Hicks. Yes, but he is listed as "SPOH0@UKACRL", with an old-style address, whereas you are listed as "SDJA0@IBM-B.RUTHERFORD.AC.UK", with the new-style, domain-based address which your mailer is no doubt now issuing in the From field. So LISTSERV recognises you but not him. The answer is for him to resubscribe and to get one of the WELSH-L owner to delete the old address. Another very common problem with UK academic addresses, is that each computer has two forms of address, a "long form" and a "short form" and various mail gateways insist on rewriting the From field to whichever form they prefer - e.g. your message reached me as "From: SDJA0@ib.rl.ac.uk". The only sure way round this - since mail may go through different gateways on different days - is to be subscribed twice, but to set one of the addresses to "NOMAIL". Sorry for the English.
