----------------------- COMPUTERS IN CARDIOLOGY London, England, 5-8 September 1993 Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine ---------------------------------------------------- The 20th meeting of Computers in Cardiology will be held at Imperial College, London, on 5-8 September 1993. This international conference, which has a well-established tradition of presenting interdisciplinary research and clinical applications, will continue to focus on problems and progress in applying computer technology to clinical cardiology and cardiovascular research. This year's meeting is being co-hosted by the Centre for Biological and Medical Systems at Imperial College and will be held on campus. CALL FOR PAPERS This year's conference is soliciting papers which report recent developments in the broad area of computer applications to cardiovascular research, diagnosis and therapy. Papers accepted at the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings, by the IEEE and will be mailed to all participants following the conference. The following subject areas are of special interest: o Physiological monitoring and intensive care o ECG signal processing Diagnostic ECG, exercise testing, surface mapping, arrhythmia analysis Neural networks o Clinical electrophysiology Data acquisition and display, interpretation, therapeutic approaches o Physiological modelling and simulation o Cardiovascular imaging Echocardiography, digital angiography, MRI, nuclear cardiology o Mechanical properties of the cardiovascular system Wall motion, coronary artery measurements, ventricular function, cardiac catheterization o Implantable cardiovascular devices Pacemakers, deffibrilators, cardioverters, drug delivery systems, cardiac assist devices o Artificial Intelligence and Medical Informatics Clinical databases, LAN/WAN/PACS, medical decision-making, CAI o Higher technology and biomaterials ABSTRACTS Abstracts of papers submitted for consideration should be written in English and sent to the address given below, before May 1, 1993. They will be reviewed and notification of acceptance for presentation will be sent July 1, 1993. A Programme Book containing all abstracts will be provided for all participants at the Conference.
