This year's workshop, the second in the series, will focus on neural network applications in the following areas - Business forecasting - Neural and Fuzzy control - Data mining - Connectionist expert systems - Medical signal processing and diagnosis - Network visualisation - Condition Monitoring - Development environments - Automated inspection - Hardware and components - Image Processing Additional applications will also be considered. Student Paper Competition Research students are encouraged to submit contributions to this competition which is sponsored by Greene R&D International Ltd. Up to four papers will be selected for presentation in this student session and scholarships, provided by Greene R&D International Ltd, will cover the cost of student registration and accomodation for two days attendance at the meeting. Abstracts for this session should be accompanied by a statement indicating the level of study. It is a condition of scholarships that students present their own work. Following the publication of selected contributions from last year's meeting in the form of a book by Ellis Horwood and a special issue of the Journal of Microcomputer Applications, it is envisaged that papers from this meeting will also be published. Submission of Papers: Three copies of a 500 word summary of the papers, comprising a brief description of the application area and the specific problem under consideration, the main contribution of the paper, a summary of the results and essential references, should be submited by 28 May 1993. Submissions should be accompanied by a statement that if accepted the author or one of the co-authors will present the paper at the meeting.
