With the Cold War behind us, the United States now faces new challenges and new opportunities both at home and abroad. At such a time, we need strong, wise and perceptive leadership in dealing with our problems. In the international area, we need a President who will have an understanding of our proper role in world affairs in the 1990's, will know how to play that role forcefully and sensitively, and will understand that our ability to lead internationally depends on our economic strength and domestic cohesion. Based upon his entire record of public service, we believe that Governor Bill Clinton is such an individual. We believe that as President of the United States he will bring the necessary qualities of intelligence, strength and judgment, and we therefore strongly support his election as President. -30- Senior Foreign Policy Officials for Clinton/Gore The Honorable W.
