I've uploaded version (0.)12 of the MS-DOS file system to
    tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/ALPHA/dosfs/dosfs.12.tar.Z (*)
and sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming/dosfs.12.tar.Z

(*) at least that's the place where it will probably be moved to.

Note that the kernel part will probably be incorporated into the "standard"
kernel very soon.

This is primarily a maintenance release. The most important bug fix is that
rename now conforms to POSIX.1 even when renaming directories to directories
and such. The second important change is in the utilities: fromdos/todos now
support conversion between the PC and the Latin-1 character set. (Option -l)

I've attached the relevant section of the CHANGES file.

CHANGES FROM VERSION 11 TO 12

  - fixed typo in diagnostic printk in read_super.
  - fixed buffer leak in msdos_rmdir.
  - renaming to existing files/directories now complies with POSIX.1.
  - fixed possible division by zero when trying to mount non-DOS file
    systems.
  - new mount option "quiet" to suppress EPERM on chmod/chown.
  - changed version string from "alpha.##" to "##".
  - fromdos/todos: added conversion between PC and Latin-1 character
    set.
