Version 3.26 of ecu (Extended Call Utility) has been uploaded to tsx-11.
The binary can be found in /pub/linux/binaries/usr.bin/Communications/
ecu326b.tar.gz; The source will be uploaded later this week.

ecu is a terminal emulator that supports zmodem file transfers, as well
as xmodem and ymodem. It has scripting and on-line help. It has a user-
friendly dialing directory and function key mapping.

A port of version 3.24 done by someone else appeared recently. There isn't
a great deal of functional difference between version 3.24 and 3.26.
However, I took a different approach to the port; I used the ncurses
library instead of termcap. This has some fringe benefits. For one thing,
the 3.26 port works very nicely with XFree86. (On the other hand, if you
don't want to bother with downloading and installing ncurses, use version
3.24 instead.)

Using ecu version 3.26 requires ipc support. Linux version 0.99pl10 has
this. If you want to use an earlier version of Linux, you must install an
ipc patch. You must have ncurses version 0.7.2 or higher.

ecu was developed and is maintained by Warren H. Tucker
(wht@n4hgf.Mt-Park.GA.US). The port of version 3.26 was done by Robert
Broughton (a1040@mindlink.bc.ca).
