Rxvt release 1.6 has been uploaded to sunsite.unc.edu, file
/pub/Linux/Incoming/rxvt-1.6-source.tar.z

Only source code is available at this time. Linux binaries
may be available tomorrow

Rxvt is an xterm replacement which uses a little less memory, and is
suitable for use on machines with small memories. Tek4010 support
is removed.

Rclock is also included. This is a simple clock/appointment reminder/
mail checker.

Modifications were made by Rob Nation (nation@rocket.sanders.lockheed.com)
to make it a little more compact, and to add and remove certain features.

Here's what's new since the last release:
1. Much faster scrolling for large files.
Rxvt-1.5 was OK at scrolling plain text (15% slower than xterm),
but was really bad when control or escape codes were embedded
in the text (man pages, 4x as slow as xterm).
Rxvt-1.6 is now FASTER than xterm in all tests that I did,
   by 50 to 100 %.
2. rclock now checks mail correctly

BUGS:
1. Scrolling with large chunks of selected (cut&paste) text on
the screen is unpleasant, because it flickers.
2. Due to the nature of the changes, I recommend retaining your
old binaries until you try out the new ones, and make sure that
   they work
