[Note: netrek is not the same thing as "xtrek" (which is the previous 
version of the game) or "nettrek" (which is a Mac game). Also note that this
binary is "blessed", meaning that it will run on servers which don't allow
cyborg clients. If you've never played netrek you should get the 
rec.games.netrek FAQ from cmns.think.com:/amm (among other places). --mdw]

A Linux port of the Netrek client has now been uploaded to
tsx-11.mit.edu and pittslug.sug.org.
You can also obtain the latest version at:
netcom.com under pub/genie/xtrek

It is a blessed clients, which is needed for many servers
running Netrek servers.  It also supports UDP mode,
allowing for better net response time between server
and client.

Netrek is a multi-player action/strategy games using the
X Windows interface.
