Hello,
I have uploaded xpat-1.2 to sunsite.unc.edu.
It should appear in Linux/x11/games/strategic soon.
This is intended to be the final release of xpat (with the hint-bug fixed!).
There are no new features compared to xpat-1.0.
Again, xpat comes in 3 archives (bin, dat, src):
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ftp 20 87755 Apr 7 16:22 xpat-1.2-src.tar.gz
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ftp 20 115731 Apr 7 16:24 xpat-1.2-bin.tar.gz
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ftp 20 88576 Apr 7 16:25 xpat-1.2-dat.tar.gz
You need either src and dat or bin and dat.
The binary distribution requires libXpm-3.4 and libc-4.5.21.

xpat-1.2 will be uploaded to tsx-11 soon.

For new features, you can test the first alpha release of xpat2.
It is in pub/in on mo.math.nat.tu-bs.de as xpat2-0.8.tar.gz.

Features of xpat2 include:
- new rule sets (Midnight Oil, Monte Carlo, Idiot's Delight)
- loadable keyboard tables and messages (needed for internationalisation)
- Athena Widget support (looks best with Xaw3d!)
- online help (Xaw version only)
- antialiased rank and suit symbols
- configuration files for card layout

Call for volunteers:
In xpat2, every button and message is configurable.
I'd like to include your personal national language application-defaults
and message files into the final distribution.
If you write one, please mail them to me. (mbi@mo.math.nat.tu-bs.de)

Happy hacking!
       Michael
