Xdrop is an Open Look utility that lets you launch other applications
using drag/drop or select/paste actions. It can run an arbitrary shell
command that can make use of filenames and text as part of its
arguments.

Drag and drop works from Xview 3 compatible applications. This includes
OpenWindows 3 deskset accessories on Sun machines. On linux we only
have cmdtool (as far as I know). Select and paste works with most X
applications.

The package includes four examples, illustrating its use for starting
xterms, editing files, looking up man pages and checking spelling.

Xdrop requires X and xview 3.0 or later.

Xdrop is available from the following sources,

sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/X11/xutils/xdrop.tar.gz	(soon)
ftp.x.org /contrib/xdrop.tar.gz (now)
comp.sources.x (in due course)

I have appended the LSM entry to this message.
