Hello all,

Quite some of you asked about some more technical docs after I
announced my driver for the IRIS frame grabber board.

Here it comes:

- grabs frames and fields (PAL: 720*576 and 360*288)
- grabs PAL, SECAM, NTSC
- composite video and SVHS input
- PLL for grabbing from video
- full colour 4:2:2, 16 bit/pixel 1 byte Y 1 byte U and V intermitting
- 1Mb videoram
- no DMA, image data is read from port
- speed depending on PC bus and memory speed, up to 6-10 fields/sec
  in full colour (360*288)
- No overlay (on my version of the card which is 1.5 years old) on VGA
- memory is *not* mapped on pc memory -> no PC memory limit
- price: ~Dfl 1200 ~ DM 1100 ~ $700

The supplier is:

Inside Technology
Fortranweg 7
3821 BK Amersfoort
Netherlands

tel: 033-558524 (outside NL: X-3133-558524 etc.)
fax: 033-558310
bbs: 033-563944

In my opinion the board gives a nice sharp and stable image,
but is not too fast.

Greetings,
Luuk Spreeuwers
