Linux Journal would like to publish user group meeting information.
The problem has been that most announcements are for meetings that
happen very soon. This does not fit in very well with magazine
printing lead time. Now that our newsstand distribution is ramping up
It is very likely that announcements in LJ will reach a lot of people
that are not currently on the Internet.

If you have meetings scheduled a few months in advance or have contact
information for future meetings that you want published, send it to
lug@ssc.com. Space permitting, we will publish the announcements.
To give you an idea of lead time, issue #5 (September) will be back
from the printer tomorrow and the material for issue #6 went to
layout on Tuesday. So figure about 2 months from the time we get the
information until people will actually read it.

Also, if you have a report of a meeting of particular interest (like
you went out for pizza after the meeting ad Linus just happened to be
there drinking virtual beer when you showed up or something like that)
send that along as well. We want people to know that things really
happen at meetings. If a photo is appropriate it can be included:
electronically in most any format or physically by mailing it to:
     Linux Journal
     P.O. Box 85867
     Seattle, WA 98145-1867
If all else fails, a fax to (206) 527-2806 will also work.
