X Inside Inc has a high performance X Server available for Linux.
The server is a replacement for the XFree86 Server (i.e. install
XFree86 server, fonts, clients and libs and then install
Accelerated-X Server). The server supports modern high performance
graphics accelerator chipsets, such as the Matrox MGA series, ATI
Mach 64, S3 964, Number 9 I-128, Cirrus GD5434, etc.

We're not keen on benchmarks, because unless they are independently
conducted and certified (and even then...) they can be spoofed. On
an untuned Pentium/60 with a Matrox MGA, PCI board, we can measure
more than 350,000 xStones, about 6.5 Xmarks. The server is visibly
faster than anything else we, or our existing customers, have seen.
The I-128 should get better than 450,000 xStones on the same H/W and
OS, when it is in production.

Some of the core technology has been licensed by SunSoft for Solaris
2.4. ICL, BSDI, ELSA are OEM's for non-Linux versions. The product
is OS Neutral; one compilation of the driver works on all supported
OS's, reducing our time to market and to resolve problems.

The server supports up to 8 screens in a multihead display (most
easily implemented with ColorGraphic Dual Lightning or Twin Turbo
boards); Mouse or Tablet; up to 1600x1200 virtual desktop on suitable
H/W; dynamically loaded extensions include all popular font formats.

We do not currently provide PEX, XIE or the various *GL flavors. If
someone needs them, we can provide them, but we only know of student
projects... and if you're a student doing that kind of graphics, you
probably port your own X, anyway :-) VAR and quantity end user
interest in these extensions is welcomed.

Support by email, FTP & FAX preferred. Installation support included
in price. Server will automatically email us problem reports. We've
had a couple of occurences where we've diagnosed and reported failure
and fix before the customer was aware of the problem. Our phones are
pretty busy at the moment, but we expect to have more staff and lines
in the Sept/Oct period.

The Server is $199.00 plus P&P. This includes all chipsets that we
currently support. There are discounts for students, academics and
site licenses. There is a reseller program. We accept Visa and
Mastercard. P&P is $3/USMail, $10/UPS 2nd Day, $15/UPS Next Day and
about $45/FedEx internationally (varies by location).
