Hello! This is an official release announcement for vtprint 1.22.
This program is used to print ASCII (or PostScript, but not binary)
files from a remote host to a local printer (across, say, a modem
connection). This is useful for people who compute at home but do a lot
of their work on a computer at work or school.

The distribution file is in GNU-zip format and is located at netcom.com
in /pub/garrett (via anonymous ftp). The actual file is:

	vtprint-1.22.tar.gz

The archive includes source and documentation, but no binaries. (Any
system with an ANSI conformant compiler should work -- and many with
non-ANSI conformant compilers can compile the source anyway! :^)

If you have been using a previous version of vtprint, please upgrade, as
this version fixes several bugs. A few features have been added also.
As I am back in classes, I don't expect to release another version
anytime soon unless a significant bug is discovered.

Here is an excerpt from the CHANGES file:

>From 1.21 to 1.22	(January 30, 1994)

	Fixed: Missing signal handling code
Fixed: Bug in EOF detection, credit to Ed Doolittle
			(doolittle@math.toronto.edu) for spotting the bug
Fixed: Compile errors on many non-ANSI/POSIX systems
Fixed: Possible memory leak in vtprtoff
Fixed: Bug in formfeeds, credit to Ed Doolittle
			(doolittle@math.toronto.edu) for the fix
Fixed: Hopefully, an error in handling EOF condition
Fixed: Potential filename globbing errors in vtprtoff
Fixed: Typos in the man pages, credit to Mike Long
			(mikelong@netcom.com) for spotting them
Added: Support for systems using a path seperator other
than slash or backslash -- now it's a Makefile
			variable
Added: Makefile support for systems that have on_exit()
			instead of atexit() -- e.g. SunOS 4.1.x
Added: Support for normal user install with
			"userinstall" Makefile target
Added: File "COMPAT", for compatiblity information
Changed:	All code now conforms to POSIX.1 specifications
Changed:	General code cleanup, support for "lint" checking
			of source fixed

The rest of the file is in the source archive. Incidentally, here is
