As requested, the Free Software Association released the first
source distribution of the GREATcomm networking server 'netfd'.
The following plattforms are preconfigured:

 - Linux
 - AIX
 - SunOs
 - HpUx
 - System V R 4.x

We uploaded gserver.tar.gz to tsx-11 ../linux/BETA/GREAT/source

What is GREAT?

GREAT (Graphical Environment And Desktop) is a graphical user interface
running on Unix(tm) machines under X11. GREAT is intended to replace the
xterm command line with easy-to-use drag-and-drop operations.
GREAT's DCE (ditributed Computer Environment) features allows the user to
access remote files and ressources as easy as local ones.

The underlying thought of DCE (Distributed Computer Environment) is the
ability to access network ressources in a unique and transparent way.
There should be no need for the user of application software to know
where an edited file physically resides.

GREATcomm has been developed this way. All it requires is the 'netfd'
server on each system that has to be accessible by others.
