Dear OBST-users,

we are happy to announce that we installed a mail-server which will help
to give everybody who is interested in OBST the access to more informations.

Everybody who wrote us in the last weeks should excuse that some questions
couldn't be answered but we've been very busy with the new version OBST 3-3.5
and some organisational changes as well as the mail-server.
If some questions which are not yet answered aren't valid any more, so please
drop us a short message.

New questions especially those concerning the new version OBST 3-3.5 will be
answered as fast as possible - and we won't forget the old questions neither.

But we suggest to use the possibilities of our mail-server, so you have the
chance to get an answer to your question as fast as possible because there'll
be much more people to help you with your problems.

There are mailing lists for announcing OBST enhancements, new versions,
porting hints, etc. (obst-announce) as well as for exchanging experiences or
discuss with other OBST users (obst-forum).

The mailing lists are maintained by an automatic list processor.
Use 'HELP' to learn about the commands understood by this processor:
       echo HELP | mail obst-listserv@fzi.de

As an example we'll include the output of the listserver for the LONGINDEX
command:

>From obst-listserv@fzi.de <date>
From: Mailing List Processor <obst-listserv@fzi.de>
To: <your account>
Subject: Re: your LISTSERV request "longindex"
Date: <date>
Sender: obst-listserv@fzi.de

Index of mailing lists
obst-announce
	List: obst-announce

The OBST team at FZI will post announcements regarding new
OBST versions, future developments, ... via this list.

The list is moderated. Subscribers are invited to forward
mails to the OBST team (obst@fzi.de) for distribution.

obst-forum
	List: obst-forum

This list is intended for OBST users who want to share experiences,
help each other with porting issues or other problems, and for
	discussing future developments around OBST.

The list is not moderated and the OBST team at FZI takes part as
	any other subscriber.

So now it's up to you.
We did the organisational part and now you only have to subscribe to the
mailing lists to use the new service. And you really should subscribe,
because the list - e.g. obst-forum - can only be as good and helpful as the
participants allow. So we expect that the number of participants will increase
very fast to make this listserver very useful.

Best regards and happy OBST programming.

   The OBST Team,

Boris Boesler, Dirk Eichberg, Frank Fock, Axel Freyberg,
Michael Gravenhorst, Ingolf Mertens, Michael Pergande, Christian Popp,
Bernhard Schiefer, Dietmar Theobald, Axel Uhl, Walter Zimmer

---

BTW "Obst" is the German word for "fruit",
so have a fruitful time with OBST!
