This is an announcement for the release of a patch I have developed that
allows rxvt to recognize the media hardcopy vt100 escape sequences and
redirect data in those escapes to a pipe (such as lpr!)

This patch has been brought to the attention of Rob Nation (if he reads
his e-mail -- and he gets it!) but is *not* official -- i.e. released
by Rob Nation himself.

The patch is a diff -c of the original source, and is located at
netcom.com for anonymous ftp in /pub/garrett as rxvt-1.61-1.61a.diff.gz.
There is also a complete source tree for rxvt (patched) in the same
directory, placed there for your convenience.

This patch was originally written to allow rxvt to work with my printing
utility "vtprint" -- allowing people (such as me) who work on Unix at
home to connect to a remote Unix host via modem to print to their local
printer from the remote host -- seamlessly. It works! :^)

The vtprint package is in the same directory. Read the INDEX file for
details.

Rxvt is an xterm style vt100 emulator, that uses less memory than xterm
and has a few features removed. (Such as Tek support.) I highly
recommend it to anyone running X11 on limited resources... :^)

Ask me about Linux, the free 32-bit Unix-like OS for PCs!

Also, ask for my resume if you are an employer in San Diego
seeking a qualified network programmer or administrator.
