Hi,

I have uploaded version 2.90 of VoxWare sound driver to
sunsite.unc.edu:pub/Linux/kernel/sound (pub/Linux/Incoming now) and
nic.funet.fi:pub/OS/Linux/util/sound/snd-kit (may not be visible yet).

This is some kind of BETA version but it appears to be reliable. There
are some new features which are not fully functional but the v2.5
compatible part is.

--------- snd-driv-2.90.README
The snd-driv-2.90 is a polished and fixed version of the current
development version of VoxWare sound driver. This package contains
the latest v3.0 prototype. The experimental and dangerous features
are just disabled but they are in the sources.

The new features are:

	- GUS MAX support (works).
	- GUS 16 bit daughtercard support (works).
	- MSS (MS Sound System) support (May work with some soundcards).
	- A fix for games and other real-time programs.

NOTE! There is no mixer support for GUS MAX/GUS16 and MSS yet. Let's just
hope that everything is audible. Also just one DMA channel is used
with GUS MAX so simultaneous use of /dev/sequencer and /dev/dsp
is not possible yet with GUS MAX.

There are some other features also but they are disabled in this
version. There is a way to enable them. Just RTFM carefully.

This version should work with SYSV also but I was not able to verify this.
The FreeBSD part requires some work with sound_mem_alloc (just using
different variables than earlier).
