[binutils contains various utilities for operating on binaries, such as
ld, gprof, ranlib, and so on. bin86 contains ld86 and as86, protected-mode
linker and assembler used for kernel compilation. You probably already have
these tools installed on your system; these are new versions modified for
the newest gcc and libraries. --mdw]

binutils 1.9l.4, binutils-1.9l.4.tar.gz, is on tsx-11.mit.edu under
pub/linux/packages/GCC/src. The C++ demangler bug is fixed.

bin86 0.1, bin86-0.1.tar.gz, is under pub/linux/packages/GCC/src
on tsx-11.mit.edu. It compiles out of box with with the Linux C
library 4.5.21.

The binary version, linux-binutils-1.0.tar.gz, is also on tsx-11.mit.edu
under pub/linux/packages/GCC. It requries the Linux C library 4.5.21 or
above, which is under pub/linux/packages/GCC.

Thanks.
