I've made a set of console fonts for use with `setfont', derived
from the VGA font set `vga/fontpack.zip' from the simtel20 DOS archive.
They are currently available in sunsite:/pub/Linux/Incoming/fontpack.tgz

The -16 fonts work best when using dialog boxes and stuff like that,
because they don't leave blank lines between line-drawing characters.
My favourites are sans-16 and lite-16

Note that if you use setfont to change the console font, and then
switch out of a graphics (ie X11 or SVGAlib) VT, the changes to the
console font will be lost.

The tar file expects to be untarred under the root directory (cf
slackware) and puts the following files in /usr/lib/kbd/consolefonts:

hisquash-8, histd-8, hithin-8

28std-14, apl-14, squashed-14, thin-14

antique-16, broadway-16, courier-16, greek-16, ibm-16, lite-16,
medieval-16, roman-16, sans-16, sans2-16, script-16, standard-16
